Savory Mushroom Balsamic Glaze

A good steak hardly ever needs anything extra; but when you want to elevate your game a little, this sauce needs to be your next addition!

Cook Time: 20 minutes

Total Time: 25 minutes

Ingredients

2 tablespoons oil

2-3 cups of roughly chopped baby Bella mushrooms

1 shallot, minced – adds a mild onion flavor

3 full sprigs thyme, chopped – herbaceous flavor

2 tablespoons butter – for richness and gloss

¼ cup balsamic vinegar – adds acidity and sweetness

¼ cup beef stock – adds depth and umami

Stump's Season-All – to taste


 Instructions 

1. Heat the oil

-Use a skillet over high heat.

-Once hot, add oil to coat the pan.

 

2. Sauté mushrooms

-Add chopped baby Bella mushrooms.

-Season with Stump's Season-All.

-Cook for about 5 minutes, stirring occasionally, until they start to brown.

 

3. Add shallots and thyme

-Stir in minced shallot and chopped thyme.

-Reduce heat to medium.

-Cook another 10 minutes, or until mushrooms are soft and shallots are translucent.

 

4. Add final ingredients and reduce

-Stir in butter, balsamic vinegar, and beef stock.

-Let the mixture simmer and reduce, stirring occasionally, until it thickens into a glaze (a syrupy sauce that coats the mushrooms).
